Intro to
"Microsoft Surface"

It makes me feel awesome when i talk about a new technology, especially technology like Microsoft Digit, Microsoft Surface, Google Glass.

One of such event was the 'Intro to Microsoft Surface'. Engineers gathered in a college auditorium and I got the opportunity to share with the about the Microsoft Surface.

I have in touch with a few MSPs and MVP who have been a great support for helping me out to get inspired to do such events.
About Surface:

Surface is a series of tablet computers designed and created by Microsoft and running Windows. Announced on June 18, 2012 by the then CEOSteve Ballmer at a Los Angeles event in Milk Studios, Surface was the first major initiative by Microsoft to integrate its Windows operating system with its own hardware, and is the first PC designed and distributed solely by Microsoft. Windows utilizes Surface's multi-touch screen with a virtual typing and handwriting keyboard, Bluetooth capability,Wifi, and in some models cellular connectivity. The Surface has a rear camera and front-facing Skype camera that can be used to capture photos, videos,as well as panoramas. The device can send email, play games, create & store documents, and playback movies and music. Surface is preloaded with basic apps such as music, video, mail, contacts, calendar, browser, health, sports, weather, and news. There are two versions of Surface, Surface and Surface Pro. The first-generation of Surface devices (Surface and Surface Pro) were announced June 18, 2012, while the second generation, Surface 2 andSurface Pro 2 were announced September 23, 2013, and the third generation, Surface Pro 3 was announced May 20, 2014.

Surface has had two generations: Surface (formerly Surface with Windows RT, then Surface RT) and Surface 2. Both use anARM (v7CPU and run the Windows RT operating system. They run ARM compiled apps that can only be downloaded and installed from the Windows Store.[11] Windows RT also comes with Office 2013 RT verses the Surface Pro which does not. The first-generation Surface comes pre-loaded with Windows RT 8.0 and the Surface 2 comes pre-loaded with Windows RT 8.1. Pre-orders for the first generation Surface started October 16, 2012 and was released October 22, 2012. An LTE capable Surface 2 has also been launched.

Surface Pro has had three generations: Surface Pro (formerly Surface with Windows 8 Pro), Surface Pro 2, and Surface Pro 3. The former uses a 64-bit Intel Ivy Bridge CPU, while the Surface Pro 2 and Surface Pro 3 utilize the newer 64-bit Intel HaswellCPU. The first-generation launched February 9, 2013 and the second generation launched September 23, 2013. When the Surface Pro 2 was announced, the original Surface Pro was pulled from being sold and when the Surface Pro 3 was launched, manufacturing of the Surface Pro 2 ceased and the remaining inventory was sold. Surface Pro 3 was revealed May 20, 2014 and went on sale on June 20, 2014.
